Tomorrow is a huge day for us. We're leaving Shanghai for the summer back in Vermont. It's been a year since we've been home. We're kind of excited. But before we head out, I thought I'd share some photos from the last month or so, in no particular order.
Sweet corn, fried and drizzled with mayo. |
Cutest kids on the block. Only time they sat still. |
Oh how I wish the tiger would have blinked. Terrifying. |
Strolling through the antique market and saw these funky molds for making moon cakes. |
A shopkeeper gave Eli a balloon. |
Perfectly sums these boys up. |
These boys too... |
With the hair and the bubbles, Townes is a babe magnet. |
A typical metro ride. |
Piles of zongzi (bamboo-wrapped sticky rice dumplings) in preparation for the Dragon Boat Festival. |
Piles of junk food in preparation for the 7th grade disco. |
Worst elementary school logo ever. |
The chocolate sucked, but we were all fairly happy. |
Even when Naomi burst out of the top of Townes' head. |
And there were dragon boats. |
And cake. |
And statues made out of chocolate. |
And a giant bouncy cake. |
My dumplings rock. |
But Din Tai Fung's are still better. |
Last day of school with Eli's sweet teachers. |
Naomi enjoying the 7th grade field trip. |
Line 2 on a Saturday afternoon. Always crowded. |
My birthday and anniversary present from Matthew. Amazing papercut of a Shanghai alleyway. |
Close up. |
bye for now... |
